Dear Friends and Family,
For the past two years -- with so much fear, chaos and destruction around the world -- our safe, comfortable lives seemed too out-of-touch and insignificant to memorialize in an annual letter. But waiting for the world to mend isn't going to make things better. And, maybe, you have been wondering how we've been. So, even though it still feels off to do this, here goes... our last three years in words and pictures, with a special focus on gratitude.
are grateful for all that. And we are deeply grateful for dear friends and the love of family.
May 2026 bring you happiness, peace and love!
Eva and Carl (and Charlie and Caroline)
partner and CFO in a growing multi-disciplinary practice in Westchester County, Psyschology Partners Group. Who knew how challenging co-managing a small business would be!? Very different from banking! Most of the time, the rewards of building something we believe in justify the longs hours. And the clinical work remains very rewarding (also most of the time).
The rest of life continues to unspool without major snags. This year, Caroline earned her BA in computer science from Columbia and is now looking for a position to start her caeer in UX/UI. Charlie has decided to pursue a career in the law after three years working as a research assistant in the neuropsych department at Columbia University. His decision was partly in response to the massive federal funding cuts for scientific research and partly in recognition of his need for a faster pace and broader range. He has spent the past few months studying for the LSAT and applying to law schools. In 2024, Carl was awarded a U.S. patent for a technology that would make the electrical grid more resilient and flexible. He is enjoying retirement, continuing to pursue his interests in clean tech IP, as and when the spirit moves him. Eva joined her friend and mentor as
Best Wishes for 2026!
We said goodbye to our loyal, loving labradoodle littermates. Brio died in late 2023 and Lego died in April 2025, one week short of his 14th birthday (98 in people years). The house is quieter and much cleaner. But even now we sometimes drive up to the house expecting to see their furry heads under the curtains looking out the window, excited to see us. Sadly, both of Caroline's beloved rescue pets, tiny timid Jinx and sweet Bloom, died in the Fall of 2024. Soon after, patient cuddly Archie entered her life.
So for another few years, we have fended off the inevitable challenges of ill health and old age, and we've enjoyed the rewards of our hard work and our unearned good luck. We
We took some great trips. Having sold Wild Goose II in May 2023, Carl and I needed time on the water and took a cruise that July around the Adriatic: Venice, Slovenia, Croatia and Greece. The weather was blistering hot, but the trip was fun nevertheless (and oh so luxe thanks to a lucky last-minute upgrade). In January 2024, three generations of Eva's extended family spent a super-relaxing week in Tulum, Mexico. Other 2024 travel included a drive up to Quebec and Montreal. We also visited Lisbon and Porto for the first time... such lovely places. In 2025, we flew to the Dolomites in nothern Italy, where Carl and our friends skied, and Eva broke her ankle on the way to the lift on the first day. She departed Italy sporting newly acquired titanium in her leg and sleek Ferrari-red crutches. We escaped the heat of August in NY by venturing to Copenhagen and Stockholm, where Eva's ankle cooperated with many miles on foot each day. We enjoyed the civilized human scale and relaxed socialist pace of modern European urban life. We also spent some lovely time on a boat in Stockholm's archipelgo.
